Here in Galmoy NS we are a very proud Green School , having achieved 5 green flags to date, Litter and waste, Water, Energy, Travel and Biodiversity. We are currently working to achieve flag number 6, Global Citizenship litter and waste.

Our committee members are Emily, Adele, Cillian, Ella Mai, Ide Mai, Adam, Sarah, Ruth, John , Jack, Robyn, Cristina, Aoife and Mrs Bergin. It is however a whole school approach and team work to reduce litter and waste both in our school and globally.

We held a Recycling quiz in January and are in the process of opening a ‘School Keep a book alive library’ where children and adults can leave a book they have enjoyed for someone else to enjoy! We will take your old household batteries and recycle them. We have lots of fun activities planned so keep an eye out both here and on our school Instagram page for regular updates.

The Earth is our home that we share so we Care!

Reduce what you use! We use reusable lunch bottles and boxes in our school. Out Hot Meal containers are all compostable.
