From September 2026, Scoil Mhichíl Naofa will be facilitating the following arrangement with Leanbh Mo Chroi childcare in Rathdowney.
Leanbh Mo Chroi promises to provide a childcare service designed to make life easier for working parents in school communities, while ensuring children are cared for in a warm, nurturing, and enriching environment.

Opening Hours & Care
Leanbh Mo Chroi offers a trusted, full-time childminding service from 7:00 am – 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday, and is fully registered with Tusla and the Laois Childcare Committee.

Bus Service
A free bus service for students of Galmoy National School attending Leanbh Mo Chroi. The bus will transport children from Leanbh Mo Chroi in Rathdowney to the school in the morning, and collect them from school in the afternoon to return to Leanbh Mo Chroi.

Homework assistance provided after school to support learning.
Nutritious, healthy meals – 5 meals per day for full-day attendees and 3 meals
(including breakfast) for those attending before and after school.
